Digitalization of Energy and Carbon Management

Utility Management and CarbonHub

Streamline utility management across your entire portfolio by automating data entry, resolving billing discrepancies, and simplifying approvals, while gaining a competitive edge with our financial-grade GHG accounting software that tracks emissions, automates reporting, and drives strategic sustainability decisions

Streamlining Utility and Emissions Management for Greater Efficiency, Compliance, and Sustainability

Organizations today face growing complexities in managing utility operations and emissions reporting. Manual workflows—such as bill tabulation, complex costallocations, and exporting data to disparate systems—along with fragmented emissions data, create inefficiencies, increase compliance risks, and hindersustainability progress. Addressing these challenges requires a unified, technology-driven approach to data integration, standardization, and transparentreporting.

arkUM and CarbonHub are advanced platforms designed to streamline utility and emissions management by offering real-time monitoring, automatedworkflows, and seamless data consolidation. Together, they eliminate the inefficiencies of manual processes and provide complete visibility across utilityconsumption and carbon emissions—from energy use to greenhouse gas (GHG) calculations under Scope 1, 2, and 3.

By consolidating diverse data formats from multiple sources and intervals, these platforms empower organizations to:

  • Gain actionable insights into utility usage and emissions
  • Reduce costs through billing analysis and back-charging
  • Ensure fair and transparent energy cost allocation
  • Meet evolving regulatory requirements with auditable and standardized reports

In today’s regulatory and stakeholder-driven environment, transparency and accuracy in sustainability reporting are critical. The lack of universally acceptedmethods and tools can lead to inaccuracies and compliance risks. Platforms like arkUM and CarbonHub align organizations with global standards, providingintuitive dashboards and powerful analytics that support confident, data-driven decision-making.

With increasing pressure from investors, customers, and regulators, organizations must demonstrate credible sustainability efforts. By adopting robust datamanagement solutions and leveraging real-time analytics, businesses can reduce operational inefficiencies, mitigate reputational risk, and enhance the long-term value and sustainability profile of their assets.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need to input the bills into arkUM manually?
We recommend using Bill Capture, where you can send us your bills, and they will be scanned and uploaded directly into the system. Alternatively, you can use the Excel import tool, where data is entered into a template and imported into arkUM.
Can we integrate BTU meters into arkUM?
Yes, BTU meters should either be connected to arkEMIS or provided to us with interval data via Excel or CSV file. If connected to arkEMIS, we can add the additional tags and share a variation request based on the deliverables.
Are the platforms cloud-based? Can we access them from anywhere?
Yes, all our platforms, including arkUM, CarbonHub, and arkEMIS, are cloud-based and can be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection.
How long have Ark Energy been using CarbonHub?
CarbonHub was a module within the utility management platform that Ark has been using for a year. Due to the importance of Carbon Accounting, CarbonHub was developed to be launched as a separate platform almost 6 months ago and has been utilized ever since
Can you apply bulk import to Scope 3?
Yes. In the imported spreadsheet or CSV file, you identify the Scope Category and GHG Factor. It is important to note that if this factor is not readily available on the platform, you can create you own custom GHG factor and then utilize it when importing bulk data
If you want to add more facilities or change your organizational structure is that something you can
You can add as many facilities as you want. After defining the new organizational structure, you can change the "Parent Collection" of any collection or emission source in the Collection Details tab
